Are you feeling anxious about teaching your teen how to drive? Our patient driving instructors specialize in teaching teens to become safe and skilled drivers.
The minimum age for students is 14 years old (15 years old is when they can test for their permit in Minnesota) before enrolling in driver's education. We equip our students with the necessary tools and information they need to successfully navigate the entire licensing process, from obtaining their permit to getting their license.
At our driving school, we understand that every student is unique, and we offer personalized lesson plans. Our instructors have undergone additional training and are certified to work with students who have ADHD or may fall on the autism spectrum. We recognize that not all students learn and understand the material in the same way.
When students come to us, they receive the individual attention they need to feel confident in their understanding of road safety, Minnesota road laws, and defensive driving skills. We are committed to ensuring that every student is well-prepared for the road ahead.

Check the Schedule
Before obtaining a permit, students need to receive 30 hours of classroom training from a licensed instructor. They receive a "blue card" once they've completed the class, which is required to obtain their learner's permit.
Students are eligible for their learner's permit at age 15, and if they have a blue card from completing the classroom training.
Log 50 hours of drive time (15 of those are to be at night) with a licensed adult over 21.
Over the course of having your permit, space out your 3 behind-the-wheel driving lessons. After these are done, the white card is issued. The white card is your certificate of course completion and will allow you to take your test to earn your Minnesota driver's license.
After turning 16 years old, and all other requirements are fulfilled, schedule your skills test at any DMV that does license testing in Minnesota.
Drive.mn.gov is the website to book an appointment for that.
